Question:
There's Tamiflu, and something else. Do you get Tamiflu for one and the other thing for the other?
If not, is there a reason for knowing which kind of flu you have, other than for statistical purposes?
Answer:
They told me that they are being treated the same way. In WA they do not even bother to see which it is because the h1 n1 test is so unreliable.
Jax had h1n1 (supposedly) and he was given Tami flu (should be same med for regular flu).
Scare tactic, I imagine...

Can you take tamiflu and theraflu at the same time?
Question:
Answer:
Tamiflu is a prescription anti-viral medication that kills viruses, but does not relieve the symptoms of the flu (fever, aches, etc.)
Theraflu is an over-the-counter symptom relief medication that does not kill viruses.
Yes, you can take both at the same time as long as you are not allergic to the ingredients in either medication. They do not adversely react together.

Should I go to an emergicare center?
Question:
i'm home sick and my dad thinks that i have the swine flu. therefore instead of filling up the emergency rooms and waiting to get in to an appt. with a doctor he plans on taking me to an emergicare center to get what he thinks a shot but my mom thinks i'd get those tamiflu pills. do you find it really necessary to go?
my symptoms are:
-bad deep cough
-runny/stuffy nose
-fever of 102.4
-achy body and joint pains
-thanks (:
Answer:
I'd go just to be on the safe side. They can give you medication to help it go away quicker and can make sure your lungs sound pneumonia free. That's a big concern with the flu.
