Tamiflu making me sick!?

Question:
i know that one of the side effects for tamiflu is that it can make you nauseous. But as it happens ive been taking the tablets for 3 days now and exactly 4 hours after taking it each time i have vomited. The tablets seem to have worked because i was very ill now im just slightly ill lol. Has anyone else had this with these tablets?
Answer:
Hiya, sorry to hear u have swine flu too, I just came across your question as I was searching for similar info. I am on my 3rd day of Tamiflu tablets, and have experienced exactly the same as you. I feel like the flu is getting better but now feel more ill from the vomitting, which seems to be getting more sudden and often as the days go on. So I think this is normal and unfortuently for us we still have 2days of sickness to go :( but I hope we feel better soon, and it is good to know I am not the only one going through this, I hope this answer helps..x

Tamiflu and pregnancy?

Question:
I was just released from the hospital the other day, as I went in thinking I had the flu. I was eventually omitted into the hospital not because of the flu symptoms I did have but because of bronchitis and my asthma was going out of control. For my flu symptoms, they put me on the tamiflu, though after one day I was completely better. The results have yet to come in, but im still taking the tamiflu and myself along with some of the doctors feel that I did not have the flu, but decided I need to take this as a per caution. My question, since the tamiflu is so new and has not been tested on pregnant women, has anyone taken the tamiflu and had their baby without any complications. As a first time mother, I am very concerned about this. Especially when the doctors told me that they do not know the risks, and since the baby is so tiny at this point (im 16 weeks) they are more concerned about my health. Thanks for your answers!
Answer:
I am 21 weeks +6 days pregnant and I am taking Tamiflu. I am also worried about taking it and I have done a lot of research and read reviews about Tamiflu. Its really a catch 22 because 50% of people say that its fine and 50% of people say its not fine. It doesn't provide us with enough confidence to take it or not. However, after reading everything and becoming more and more nervous I called my OBGYN and asked if it was really safe to take this medicine since its rated as a Cat C drug for pregnancy. My doctor assured me that there are several patients in her office that are pregnant and taking this medicine and all of them are doing just fine. So I have to agree that its better to take the Tamiflu then to risk being sick and have your baby die because you didn't take action to stop yourself from being sick. Its a scary risk but like some others have stated below. This medicine has been out for years and our doctors are there to help us and benefit us as much as possible. They are not looking to hurt you or the baby so take the medicine. Its only for five days. I'm sure everything will be fine. I've been on Tamiflu for three days now and my baby is still as active as ever before. I can feel him kicking all the time. So just try to relax and take the Tamiflu. I felt terrible three days ago and now I'm feeling much better thanks to the medicine. Source(s): I've researched several sites on Bing.com, Google, and MSN. But mainly from experience w/Tamiflu I believe everything is fine.

Almost 22 weeks pregnant with a boy - this is my first child!!!

Pay to pay, and Don't pay to Not-Pay? Oh, I get it. It's a paradox!?

Question:
I pay for Health Insurance so that I can pay a portion of the cost of medicines, like TamiFlu. Homeless people don't pay taxes so that they can have MedicAid and Not-pay for medicines like TamiFlu.

How is the future of the Health Care Industry going to be any different from the current situation? Is this what Congress was thinking when they decided to fine people for not having Health Insurance?

Y!A wanted to put this question in "Jokes & Riddles," but I'm not kidding!
Answer:
your logic is flawed and only represents a small percentage of people.
There are a lot of people that do not qualify for medicaid and either aren't offered insurance or their insurance premiums are too high...
I am not saying that I agree with the universal health care (to be honest I don't know enough about it) but I can see some advantages.
I think everyone should get an opportunity to health care.
Healthy people tend to be more productive (I say tend because there always is exceptions. In this case there may be many, still.......) Source(s): *edit*- I am not attacking your right to grumble at your medication bill, one of the caseworkers I worked with could not get any coverage for tamiflu because it was preventive rather than necessary (as she was traveling in area's where her exposure would be greater)We called around and could not find it for <$79 for ten pills...(at walmart it was $121. for the ten pills....
the cost for medication is outrageous, but with all the lawsuits and work that goes into it I am not sure that it is totally unjustified, but it does seem unrealistic. I digress.
It may not be fair but would you have the poor die or start an epidemic? Surely as a father you must preach about compassion....In NY if you are on medicaid you still pay a certain percent of what you can afford based on your income, unless it is I think like antibiotics that are on the $4 list which are free.
*****edited later*******
I am not trying to imply that you are selfish what I am trying to point out is that humanity looks out for one another, and I am sure that you as a father teach that to your children....
You have a right to be angry that you still have to pay for medicine, but I think (and please correct me if I am wrong-because I would like to know) that that would be a problem with your specific insurance and how the coverage is. In addition, some medicaid recipients still pay taxes and are employed. Demographically I think you are underestimating this and overestimating the pessimistic view that people don't want to work. I don't think you may be thinking of other groups such as those that one parent lost their job and the other makes significantly less and they can't afford insurance and have children to take care of; being a father I am sure you know how much children need medical care even if it is minimal such as vaccinations for school but can be much more significant such as asthma and diabetes.

Pregnant, should I buy an Antiviral now?

Question:
I live in Colorado, and the town I'm in has pretty much been bombarded with swine flu. I'm now 20 weeks pregnant, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before someone brings it into my house. I'm pretty worried about it. Since I'm pregnant, I've heard that I'm considered "high risk" for swine flu complications. Should I go to the doctor and ask to get Tamiflu or Relenza now, or wait and see if I start feeling sick?
Answer:
I don't think a doctor will give you anything until you actuall catch swine flu. Yes pregnant women are considerd high risk but it's the same with any type of illness.

I would try not to worry about it and just keep clean. Don't let anyone in your house that has come into contact with swine flu. Swine flu isn't as bad as normal flu it's just got more hyp about it at the moment.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy
